The Birth of #APMG: A Game-Changer for Aesthetic Practice Managers
Let's face it: being an aesthetic practice manager is no walk in the park. Trust me, I've been there. You're juggling a million tasks, from making sure the schedule doesn’t get triple booked to ensuring patients leave with a smile (and hopefully some tox). It's a high-stakes, high-stress job that often feels like you're spinning plates while walking a tightrope. And the kicker? For years, we've been doing it all without a real support system.
The Lightbulb Moment
Picture this: It's another late night at the office. You're knee-deep in spreadsheets, trying to figure out how to improve patient retention, finish inventory you started 3 days ago, all the while implementing that new EMR system... You desperately wish you could pick someone's brain – someone who's been there, done that. But who? That's when it hit me... We needed a community.
#APMG: From Dream to Reality
And just like that, the Aesthetic Practice Managers Group (APMG) was born. Okay, maybe it wasn't quite that instantaneous. One conversation from a business talk I did at the American Medical Spa Association MSS event in February of 2023 led to many more. One by one we added members of like mind. Once I decided to formalize APMG into its own entity, there were countless nights of planning, endless cups of coffee, and more than a few moments of doubt. But my primary purpose was and is to help the aesthetic practice manager, because the aesthetic practice managers deserve their own resource.
What Makes APMG Different?
Now, I know what you're thinking. "Great, another professional group. Just what I need – more emails to ignore." But hold on! APMG isn't your run-of-the-mill, snooze-fest organization. We're talking bi-monthly Zoom calls where you can actually speak your mind (and maybe vent a little). We've got curated resources that don't just gather dust in your inbox. And let's not forget the 1:1 coaching – because sometimes, you need more than a pat on the back and a "you've got this!". The monthly membership is a nominal fee to gain access to actionable feedback that you can easily take back to your practice and implement QUICKLY.
Joining APMG is like giving your career a much-needed facial. You'll leave refreshed, rejuvenated, and ready to take on the world (or at least that tricky staff meeting). Our "Aesthetic Ally Calls" with vendor partners? They're not just boring product pitches; it’s a platform for KOLs like Frier-Levitt legal services, the infamous Terri Ross with APX and consulting services, Ben Hernandez from Skytale group for financial savvy, and Dan Simard from Liguori Accounting to inform us of their valuable pro
The aesthetic profession is growing faster than you can say "non-invasive procedure." It's exciting, sure, but it's also overwhelming. Without a strong community of practice managers supporting each other, we risk burning out. And let's be honest, nobody wants a burnt-out manager running their aesthetic practice. It's bad for business, bad for patients, and terrible for our sanity.
As we look to the future, I can't help but get excited. #APMG is more than just a group – it's a movement. We're changing the game, raising the bar, and maybe having a little fun along the way. Because at the end of the day, that's what it's all about: loving what we do and doing it better, together.
We have our FIRST virtual conference October 23 and 24- check out the details here (and register if spots remain!).
